As it turns out, Lily Collins is the ONLY reason to go see this movie. Her performance is nothing short of dazzling. I've seen a couple of her earlier movies, and you could see the potential was there, but nothing prepared me for this performance.
A star is born.
Other than that, "Rules Don't Apply" is a meandering, aimless spectacle.
I haven't seen the film so I'll take your word for it regarding her performance. Unfortunately nobody is going to see the performance so I don't think it will help her career.
