Not enough info at the end...

Did the guy do time for it?
How many of the 70 calls were him?
Did she sue the corporation and get paid a settlement?

I hate having to research the endings, a couple of sentences to summarise would have helped!

I believe he was caught and the girl did sue, but this happened a number of times but this was the biggest case

He did every single one of those 70 calls. He went to trial but was found not guilty due to the lack of evidence.
The girl sued the corporation and won some millions with that.
The manager's fiancé went to jail for 5 years for sexual assault.

This Wikipidea article sums up what happened leading up to the prank call in Mt. Washington and the aftermath of the events shown in the movie:

There's also a video on youtube showing the real camera footage and interviewing the real people.

Thanks for this! Making it clicky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuH3GYmSjzU This video is amazing. "You can see in the footage she is naked when you come in" "Don't answer that!" This is straight from the movie! They really got their details right in this movie. Even quotes from real footage!

My sister went to school with the girl this happened to and according to her the girl wasn't very bright to begin with.

It doesn't matter if she's a genius or a retard. She has rights as a citizen and a human being.

This is loosely based upon an actual event. So it is left for the viewer to decide. Though you can choose to believe the real life endings for the movie if you so wish.

reply

Dude, what? Loosely based? This is actually one of the rare movies that is very accurate to the true story. There were over 70 reported cases, but this particular story made the biggest splash because it the most abusive case and finally exposed the perpetrator. You don't have to just 'choose' endings to correlate with the movie because each major character in this movie is a real person in this one real event. So yes, something did become of everyone involved and whether the movie indicates it or not, they all experienced consequences and that information is perfectly available to the public via internet search.
