Very cool film

With so much garbage Sci-Fi getting big theater openings (and some very good ones I might add) Why did I have to VOD this wonderful film? I would have loved to have seen it on the big screen with its vast and sweeping landscapes. I enjoyed Elysium for the most part, but Automata hit all the notes I was hoping for from that film on a much smaller budget. Its not a perfect film, so few are, but I got lost in this one and couldn't keep my eyes and ears off the screen. I felt invested because I was easily lost in the world it had created. The use of practical effects were such a throw back to the sci-fi I grew up on. Are we no longer getting fun Dystopian Future films anymore? Films like Brazil, The Fifth Element, or Thunderdome. Both Automata and Intersteller do have a certain message of hope, yet neither takes the lighter side of the impending doom. Yes, we all know our species is headed for a self deserved sh#t storm. We more than got it coming and this point. Films like Automata and Elysium really drive that depressing point home. At least Automata didn't dwell on this fact as much. I miss that tounge and cheek approach that RoboCop and Total Recall presented. This film did show us a very utility looking Fembot skilled in sex for hire. But it would have been so much better if she had 3 boobs!

Lol like Total Recall? Anyways, I humbly agree. This movie was really cool. I'm not even big into robot movies, but this was really interesting.
