Thoughts about the end (spoilers)

Banderas, wife and baby drove away onto proverbial sunset. Sounded like they were heading for the beach and were just about to see the water. But is there any life there? How are they supposed to survive outside the city? Am I missing something?

I thought it was implied that there were cities on the coast. I suppose they planned to drive up and down until they found one.

Of course, then what? We saw that city folk don't like outsiders just walking up to the city gates and asking for food and shelter. In fact, they shoot you before you even get close.

And if there are no cities? Hopefully there is a food source and some way to build a shelter. But, the world seems in bad shape, so I doubt that there actually are plentiful resources within one tank of gas of the one city that we did see. Otherwise, everybody be going to live by the sea.

Some people think, which I didn't realize at first, that the little family was all going to die. You can see this under the rather sad thread, "Realize what happened to the baby?" Sorry if I'm telling you something you already found, even posted on lol Too lazy to go back and verify :)

No, I got the impression the beach was just childhood memories before the scorching of the Earth, and that all human life was doomed and soon to be extinguished, including the little family. The robots would survive and take over.
