Are there deserts in Bulgaria?

Apparently it was filmed in Bulgaria but the deserts in the movie don't look like Bulgaria to me.

If revenge is a dish best served cold, but revenge is sweet then is revenge ice-cream?

Looks to me more like Grand Canyon and death valley. I don't think they have similar canyons in Bulgaria but I think they used the green screen and studio with this budget.

No, there aren't any actual deserts here, but there are locations which can pass for deserts after some CGI tweaking. As gabelot-51276's link shows, part of the scenery is real, and part is CGI, kind of like in Mad Max.
