I just saw the trailer for this on a disc for another movie. I immediately thought of Cherry 2000.

I didn't recognize her when I watched the movie to be honest, just found out it was her reading the credits here at IMDb and then figured it was kind of a hommage thing to pick her.
Then again, there are several quantum leaps of progress between a Pilgrim 7000 and a Cherry 2000 :)
