This film is a thing of beauty. There is not much new to the AI genre, but when i'm left with gratifying philosophical musings well after watching a move, i would consider it a successful piece of art.

Heavily philosophical sci-fi usually gets received poorly initially. For example Blade Runner was critically panned when it first came out, but has since become a classic of the genre. Most people expect sci-fi to be some big set piece action movie, but when you have a thinking-man's sci-fi a la Phillip K Dick, Heinlein, and (the real stories of) Asimov (looking at you I,Robot), people usually don't receive them as well initially.
sharelow ratings because they present one main question the character has to figure out: why did this happen? And they answer it by saying Magic.
Meanwhile the characters are all highly cliche, and we never care at all about Jacq.
Also the desert scenes ran way too long.
Banderas pretty much ruins this movie singlehandedly. He was ok as a lunatic in Expendables 3, but casting him as a lead in this movie was a big mistake. His appearance, his acting and his accent are a total put-off.

The writer is a joke, and who read this script or something is also a joke.
Who could give money to make such a ( the best word is ) s****d movie..
Poor acting..
I was like " It does really make no sense at all " when Antonio almost kissed the robot.. That scene.. Yea you can say that " Antonio felt like the robot has a human spirit or something " but at first I did not believe that those robots are more than robots and at second that's the main reason why Antonio could not believe it. Simple.
That makes a movie good or bad. You believe it or not.

Wow, what is wrong with you? This is one of the worst movies of this genre. Boring, bad, uninteresting, full of plot holes that don't make any sense. Are you spanish? That's why you defend this terrible movie?

The film sets a nice mood and tone and I really liked the story development and all of the actors up until I saw Melanie Griffith. There's just something about that mousy voice and demeanor that just doesn't quite work for her character.
