The Imposter vs The Chameleon

The Chameleon is a movie roughly based on the same story that was told in the documentary.
For those who have seen both movies,
which one do you prefer?
What do you think of the portrayal of the main characters?
Who did a better job in direction?
Bart Layton or Jean-Paul Salomé

I like both equally. The Chameleon gets negative criticism but it covers much of the ground that this documentary does and Grondin as Bourdin was almost identical.

In The Chameleon Bourdin is portrayed as more introvert and remote than he seems on camera in TI although the way he described his behaviour and covering up of himself was also in TC.

I don't know if you can compare direction because TC is a fictional drama very close to the information we get in TI. The latter is mostly a series of interviews with some reconstructed scenes and actual footage.

I felt when watching TI that I knew the characters already because of TC, which indictaes to me that the characters were well constructed and cast in TC. Only Nicholas's mother was different.

Why do you refuse to remember me?
