The family killed Nicholas

There is just no other explanation. This guy looked older than 15. He had dark roots, wrong eye color, different nose, etc. They didnt want his blood or finger prints taken. There was no reason for the sister and mom to believe he was Nicholas. They went along with it to cover up the fact that either the brother Jason or the step father killed Nicholas. And with someone there as Nicholas, authorities would stop looking for the real Nicholas. What a crazy twist. That guy Bourdin should still be in prison for everything that he did. But someone in this family knows Nicholas is dead and who killed him and the rest are covering for them.

I just watched this last night, and have to agree that something is off.

There is no way they didn't know it wasn't him. But in order to cover up what really happened it gave them an out.

It was disturbing on both sides, when I first started watching it I felt so bad for the family, but the more they showed of them, they're not a nice group of people.

Something is off.

Except for the fact that the family says no one was even looking for Nicholas. There is no need to cover up what was not even suspected. Odd story that I can't make heads or tails of.

They weren't planning on covering anything up until they were presented with having to fly to Spain to at least see if this was Nicholas. I'm not claiming to know what happened, but if they knew Nicholas was dead, they at least had to pretend like they didn't know and send someone to Spain. Once they were presented with this information, the story had been dug up again and on their minds that they may be found out. This is why I don't completely discount that the family had something to do with it based on the fact that they would have had to cover up something that they had so far gotten away with. But, like I said, I don't claim to know anything for certain. If these folks just got conned then I feel very sorry for them. What's worse than having your Son/Brother disappear and not knowing what happened? Believing he was back and then realizing he is still missing and you've been living with a stranger.

I have no doubt in my mind that the family knows what happened. Not saying THEY did it, but they're at least aware that he is not alive, and they likely know who did it.

Truly bizzare story

If my daughter went missing and came back years later, I would be highly suspicious if my now brown hair blue eyed child came back as a red head brown eyed child lol.

No way in hell wouldn't they recognise their own kid, unless they were covering something up. Like I'd get its been 4 years but eye colours do not go from blue to brown, in teenage years!!!!

reply

If this was based on true events, was the family a suspect for murdering their kid? I've never heard of this murder twist from the news, seems like the stuff thrillers are made of. Ingesting.

reply

I can about see if Nicholas had been missing 40 years. But 4 years.., come on!

reply

I wonder if the family didn't hire this guy to pretend to be there son

reply

My guess is a single family member killed him, then another did or didn't help cover it up. The killer was the one who continued to play the rest of the family into believing this is the "real" Nicolas. They want to believe so badly they fall for the killers mentality and the rest of the family falls into line.
