I was very sure... (ending)

I was very sure it was all going turn out to be a setup. That the director, or one of the friends, or the gal-pal was going to have arranged the whole thing.

Which would have been a lame ending. (Though it worked for, say, APRIL FOOLS DAY)

But it would have been better than that ending. :/

I was kinda thinking it would be a game/practical joke and perhaps Brandy died because she panicked and ran out of air in the coffin (hence the scene of her body being put in the trunk), but alas that was not the case

Yeah, she was still alive in the trunk. She turns her head and looks at the camera, and she moves her arm a bit. So I'd imagine it was on the way to the burial site

I also kept waiting for one of them to have snakes put in the coffin with them, to show the people had been spying/listening for a while

I took as all a part of the haunt and don't believe anyone died. The footage in the beginning of Brandy in the trunk is them taking her to be buried.

Earlier in the movie during an interview someone said that they would do anything short of killing you to scare you. I feel this is very telling and foreshadows/explains the ending.

I was wondering the same thing,**SPOILER** but only after the friends including Bobbie, wearing a blue hoodie, are gathered in the RV trying to figure out where their missing friend is. The one who followed the "fake", Bobbie wearing a blue hoodie & blue skull mask down the alley. In this scene, in the RV, you can clearly see blood behind Bobbie's ear, since the skull mask is pulling his hair back. So maybe it wasn't a fake Bobbie? Does anyone know why else he has blood behind his ear?
