Surprised at the low rating and hate for this movie

Just caught this on Netflix last night and I was surprised at how much I liked it. I saw the very low rating (5.0) on IMDB and was going to pass on it but I decided to watch the trailer. I liked the trailer enough to give the movie a shot and ended up giving it an 8/10 at the end.

I'm surprised at how low the score is on IMDB and how a lot of people are saying it's dumb. I understand everyone has their own opinions but it blows me away that so many people hated it. I didn't see what was wrong with it.

I had a lot of fun watching them travel to different haunted houses across Texas. It was fun to see the haunted houses set up and all of the different characters and I really enjoyed it. I thought the movie took a step backward once the first guy got killed in the alley but I found myself wondering if this was going to be some elaborate "scare" or if they were really going to die during their bus ride into the country. I was hoping it would turn into some huge scare and it would be revealed in the end but either way, still thought it was a pretty good horror movie.

5/10 is not really a low rating. Especially not for an indie horror movie. That's actually pretty high. The rating was the reason I watched this movie in the first place. I personally didn't care for it and gave it a 4/10. I just wasn't impressed.

I,too, gave it an 8. I found it frightening & original. The ending took me by surprise as well. I love the "found footage" genre & glad Netflix finally had something new to watch this month. I hope others that see it will rate it higher. I find that people who rate horror movies, that are this unique & well-acted,such low scores are too snooty to appreciate what they just saw. Go watch The Notebook again.

I gave it a 3 and I love horror. I just found it to be tedious boring filmmaking.

My thoughts exactly, I'm surprised anyone can give this an 8, which is a pretty damn good score around here. The difference between 'boring home vacation video' and the first hour of the movie was almost nothing. There were no scares or even a hunt of anything happening, it was literally people in an RV having inane conversations. We gave up it was so bad. I may try to finish it at some point down the road, but I'd have to drink about ten energy drinks first just to stay awake...

well the amunt of times you said the movie was FUN, I dont blame people for giving it a low rating, it should of SCARY not FUN.

I have fun watching any horror movie even when it's scary. So your point is moot.

I gave it an 8 as well. It genuinely creeped me out. I always enjoy going to haunts like the ones in the movie and thought this was a new perspective on them and what could happen when they go very...very wrong.

Just remember, life without me would be even more unbearable!
