Camden Park?
Anyone have any idea why late 60's stock footage of Camden Park, in Huntington, WV, was used for the opening?

shareI believe it is one of the oldest parks around..also the site has a history of being haunted if i recall correctly..it was built on or near an Indian burial ground
Also the haunted house there has a nice look and feel to it..i think they just used it to show different areas have their own haunted attractions
Ive been to Camden park, its pretty cool. The place is old so part of the thrill is not knowing if you'll make it out alive or if the rides will collapse..lol..the haunted house is pretty fun, nothing major but you ride through darkness with special effects jumping at you or making noises,,there is also a wall of bubble gum where everyone sticks their gum as they pass by lol...
Another ride..the wooden roller coaster seriously had me fearing for my life..thing is old and rickety and it,wobbles as you ride it and then you go through a pitch black tunnel and still wobble before going down the big dip..ill never ride it or anything like that ever again
Its not the fact that its so scary, its a pretty basic plain coaster its the fact that the thing is held up by toothpicks lol
I was wondering the same thing. It's not exactly the most scary haunted house...
sharePretty cool to see it. Growing up in WV, Camden Park was the first theme park I'd ever been to. I still remember the haunted house, log ride, and big dipper.
shareIt's just highlighting the fact that haunted houses have been such a popular attraction for so long.
