Shaky cam nonsense with baffoon characters. To those who enjoyed it, good for you but I found it to be an irritating mess.

Agreed. Such an interesting premise but it really was a mess. Felt like a vanity project where the writers wanted themselves on camera. Cliched actions by dumb insufferable characters. Makes Wrong Turn 5 seem like a masterpiece.
I give credit to the some of the people who went full-on with the scary makeup/characters.
I enjoyed wrong turn. Even watched the second but found no reason to continue with the series. But ya, wrong turn 5 was probably way better than this garbage.

I completely agree about the irritating mess and even more so about the characters part. I could not find myself caring about ANY of those five people. They were a mix of the bland forgettable and the OTT trying too hard 'comical' characters.
I thought the plot itself was ok-ish to begin with; some half decent tension build-up and nicely filmed haunted house scenes... but sort of ruined by a lot of the super fast cutting - "hey look, the characters are enjoying themselves, can't you tell!" Far too distracting and annoying at the same time.
Then in the final third the wheels didn't come flying off as much as blown away to the other side of the country along with the rest of the bus. For a start I'm not a fan at all of constant downward spiral climaxes, where the characters are 100% doomed... basically not even showing a glimmer of hope or drive to get out of the situation they've found themselves in. But flipping between 4 first person view points at that ridiculous pace was the icing on the cake.
So much potential; nearly all of it wasted!
