Why does everyone assume that SPOILERS died at the end?

I mean sure, the camera is shut off after the burial, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they weren't going to dig them out. It's possible that they probably were going to edit the video and post it on their secret site as an example of what to expect, and ending the video like that would certainly be more dramatic and potentially attractive for those seeking the "extreme haunts".

I think it's left open ended. Yes, they could possibly have been all killed. Or maybe they were dug out, tossed back by their RV, and told that their camera's were being confiscated. For anyone looking for this particular "extreme haunt", they would be left to wonder, and apparently that would be just the thing to draw in more future thrill seekers'.

But wouldn't there be lawsuits filed against them if they let them live?

How would they be tracked down? It's an underground haunt that isn't registered. All the people participating are disguised and anonymous. The locations they use switch from year to year. You have to meet up at specific places and specific times and follow clues to get to the place, all the while the group stakes you out to make sure you're legit before they finally meet up with you at the haunt location.

It seems to me that they would be a pretty difficult group to pin down, and the argument could be made that if you went seeking "extreme scares" and then got them, it's your own fault if you overestimated your own limits.

Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill Vol. 2 would beg to differ.

But seriously, it's neither confirmed nor denied whether or not the burial is just part of the "extreme haunt" experience, or if it's meant to actually kill them. We as the viewers aren't given a clear answer, but if it is the former, then they would be dug out a short while later and then sent on their merry way.

Well, she was in a panic and hyperventilating which can give one the illusion of suffocation.

Based on the movies and tv shows I've seen with people being buried alive (which granted I'm not sure what the "scientific accuracy" is of them), but based on those, there was enough oxygen in the coffins to keep the person alive for at least a couple hours.

Okay, I had someone bury me alive. It actually took 3 hours and 43 minutes before I finally passed out. It's possible that it could vary from coffin to coffin though.

I totally agree with this. Over and over again I keep reading that people felt the ending was bad because it should have ended up being a part of a extreme haunt. So basically this people want them to be dug back up and everyone laughs..."ha ha oh crap you got us good". Wtf ever. That would be corny as hell.

I think they're all dead. None of them were a Beatrix Kiddo with training to get out of a buried coffin like she did. I liked the movie though. Buried alive is the scariest!

I had the same thought. I don't think they were actually buried alive at all.

Here is what I think happened (or how I prefer to imagine it happening since I didn't like the obvious ending):

The guy who put all this together, can't remember his name, he secretly signed waivers for everyone in his party by forging their signatures. This protects the Blue Skeleton group form any lawsuits and let's them go as far as they do.

The ending is clever editing on the part of Blue Skeleton. Yes, the people are put into caskets but the cuts of the group covering them with dirt are from another shot they filmed separately and no one is in those caskets.

Why do this? As the OP said, for marketing. They already posted one video on the internet of them sleeping in the RV and this was a follow-up. No one finding this video on the internet would think it was real and they would be thrilled to sign up for the experience.

It doesn't make sense that this group goes around killing people. They are easily found on the internet and obviously have a following. They would have been shut down by now if people went to them and never came back.

So, yes, I think this was an extreme haunt and the lead guy was the only one who knew more about it and the burying at the end was some clever editing. In the end they were all let out but we don't see that part because Blue Skeleton owns the rights to the videos and that wouldn't help their marketing.

Someones dies in a horror movie? Oh man what a spoiler that is, let me tell you. *beep* outta here.

On topic, I actually think it was an extreme haunt and they weren't killed. If you remember, they get told about this "Blue Skeleton" from two guys who experienced the previous year. Now it's possible they themselves were part of the group and they actually were killed but I would've much preferred it to be a false kill and they were all mentally scarred from the event. Having them killed was too predictable and way overdone.
