Let's hear what you think will happen next season.
Here's a few of mine to get us started:
- Lorna will continue to say that the baby is Bob's, until it is learned that Bob's war injury has made it impossible for him to be the father. Bob will leave Lorna, and take up with Edith and her kids, and Lorna will finally succumb to her feelings for Marco.
- Lorna will be fired from Vic Mu because of her pregnancy and Akins will replace her with Vera.
- James will go missing and be presumed dead. Gladys will mourn, may go back to her family, but will continue to work at Vic Mu. Lewis will return, possibly wounded, claiming that his love for Gladys and her letters were all that kept him going. Gladys is tempted and may give in. Later, James will return, also possibly wounded, and will expect Gladys to keep her promises. Gladys will have to choose.

Evil PURE AND SIMPLE by way of the Eighth Dimension!
I really hope we can get some insight into the backyard abortions of the time with Lorna. That would be pretty interesting, but I have a feeling this won't happen.
I'm also expecting more Bety and Kate...perhaps Kate's blues singing friend will help Bety out? I really like him.
Actually, it's been kinda confirmed that Bob is still "fully functional". Cause I asked Meg Tilly on Twitter whether she knew if Lorna's children were conceived before or after Bob came back from WW I, and she answered my tweet by saying she'd asked Bomb Girls creator and writer Michael MacLennan the exact same question, and he said they were conceived after Bob came back injured.
I had actually already written most of my Bob/Lorna/Marco triangle speculations in my Tumblr episode 1x06 review, but I'll gladly repost it here:

I’d like to comment a little more on the whole Bob/Lorna/Marco triangle. Because, damn, Lorna! You’re in trouble, aren’t you? I mean, the kid is Marco’s. And that came as a big surprise to me because I was of the (perhaps naïve) impression that Marco and Lorna never actually went that far. So Lorna knows it’s not her husband’s kid, but also knows that she can neither tell Bob nor Marco that. Her family and her life would fall apart, and I don’t think she can bear the thought. So then she goes and makes a bad thing worse by begging her husband to sleep with her so she can cover it up. Question is, will Bob buy it? Doesn’t morning sickness set in five or six weeks after conception? Add to that Edith’s comment about the fourth time being the charm. I’d peg Bob to be smart enough to put two and two together, but will he be able to look beyond the rim of his teacup (or rather his whisky glass) and even notice there’s something awfully awry here?
The whole thing is somehow incredibly tragic, because there is no easy way out for Lorna. It’s not just the fact that she’s carrying a bastard child, it’s also that she’d thought she’d closed that particular chapter in her life. Her three children are all grown, and the prospect of her spending another two decades raising a child is not something she had envisioned for the life she was trying so hard to build for herself. So it’s no wonder she finds little joy in the news that she is pregnant.
This actually prompted me to look a little bit into what it was like in the 1940’s. Oral contraceptives weren’t on the market yet. Condoms were something you used with hookers. There was little available in terms of birth control, other than monitoring your temperature, pulling out or prayer. And once you were in the family way, there was no choice but to carry the child to term. Abortion was practically unheard of, and illegal, of course. Not to mention highly immoral. Basically, Lorna is pretty much SOL. Although if termination was an option, I don’t think she would even consider it. And this makes me appreciate all the more how far we’ve come in the seventy years since, and how many things we’ve learned to take for granted these days.
And now this leaves me wondering how the writers will resolve Lorna’s mess. Why is it that I can’t see this turning out smooth sailing? She tells Bob she’s pregnant, he’ll be happy and then they raise another kid? (Not effin’ likely, right? I mean, hey, this is prime time television!) What I’m afraid of is that Lorna will end up devastated and alone, because over these first six episodes, the amazing Meg Tilly has played Lorna right into a special place in my heart. In my mind, I'm seeing scenarios of spontaneous abortion some time during the first trimester. I mean, Lorna's over forty years old. Statistics say that 10 to 15 percent of pregnant women miscarry in the first eight weeks. At maternal age 45, it is estimated that one in thirty foetuses have a birth defect. I'm seeing dramaturgical possibilities here.
And then what? Will that make Bob redeem himself by being able to look beyond his own pain and support Lorna in a time of need? Will there be room for Lorna to confess her affair with Marco? And if she does, how will Bob react? And if she doesn't, how will Lorna be able to live with herself? Argh, it's a darn quandary, and I'm not liking either outcome. So, dear writers, please don't disappoint. Please. All right?

So that's my take on the whole thing. And I must say, I can't wait for season 2. Also, Meg Tilly recently tweeted this:
"Received the first two #bombgirls scripts of season two. Sworn to secrecy with regards to what happens, but...oh my. Lorna. Sigh."
She could proberly get away with it...a lot of ordinary men in those days were pretty dense over (hush hush...whispered tones) women's things!!! You mention the word period and they would most likely freak!!! They just were not discussed with men unless he was a doctor, the menfolk were often kept out of the loop.
Well, they left it intentionally vague whether Bob can put two and two together, but I think you're right it's a bit naive to believe Bob didn't make the connection when Edith more or less let it drop in the park. It's going to be interesting to see what the fallout of it will be. Is Bob angry enough to leave Lorna (unlikely, considering a) his disability and b) the times they were living in, where divorce wasn't something you considered lightly), or is he maybe out for revenge (i.e. going to cheat on Lorna with Edith)?
I really can't wait to see what the writers have in store for season two! Just two more months.
