Bomb Girls is a great series... and I'm so disappointed to see it's been cancelled...
(the ones I like usually are... grrrr!)...
But just to share...there's a good mini series on pbs right now... with 4 british women
in the 1950s who were code breakers in the war... and are now trying to find a serial killer.

shareIt's true Bomb Girls is better...and I'll miss it. Plus as far as I understand The Bletchley Circle is only 3 episodes... so it'll be gone in a couple weeks too. I like the series that take place in past decades... but they keep getting cancelled. I liked Pan Am too. And it didn't last either. :(
ITV has commissioned a 2nd series of Bletchley Circle airing this Fall. :)

Yea! More Bletchley Circle. Cannot wait.
I've been to Bletchly Park a couple of times, so really enjoyed seeing a show about the women from there, as they were sorely ignored after the war, especially as they couldn't even say they worked there for 60 years. ha
It's the cast too that makes the "Circle" so great. A real heavy hitter female cast.
Indeed it will, but much later than the UK airing (Fall 2013) - likely by April 2014, after Downton Abbey airs in Jan/Feb of the same year.

For some reason this show was just so intelligent and unusual as a premise, that I was afraid it might not make it for a second season.
Fortunately, ITV saw the value.
Bletchley Circle was truly excellent. It puts this series in the dust. Bletchley was historically accurate and entertaining; this was modern crap stuffed into a vintage dress, and it didn't fit. Cancellation was a great idea.
