I've just been binge watching this on Netflix and I'm so upset. I can't believe they killed off Vera and Ivan.. I just wanted some happy endings, is that so much to ask? What is wrong with these writers, this show is soul crushing
shareMy guess, it's to show just how much the war affected everyone and their families. Not many got through the war without losing a loved one. I agree that it's soul crushing but I likes it in a way. Not everyone gets a happy ending and that's the way life can be. I really did love the show and wish it hadn't been cancelled.

The "Bomb Girls Movie" you mention was not exactly a film of its own. Essentially it was a two-part series based on the first two seasons. On Netflix it is listed as the series third season, so you ought to be able to understand why folks discuss it on this forum.
Even the seasons on this series are really different than most. I think the first season consisted of six episodes, the second season had twelve episodes, and the "third season" was simply two episodes which were joined and aired together. The third season wrapped up the previously unfinished storylines from the first two seasons, and was quite satisfying for our tastes.
My wife and I started watching the whole three seasons for the second time, and we just finished the first season. It has been about a year since we finished the series previously, but at our age we are now watching again and find there are few scenes we remember from our previous viewing. Getting older is not great, but being able to read old books and see old films and TV shows like they were new is one advantage.
