Georgia to Toronto does seem like a hell of a commute although I've heard of much worse. So I assume they shoot at different times of the year.

Saving Hope began shooting June 11 and will film until December. The Originals filmed the first three episodes of season 2 before wrapping in mid-May and should pick up shooting in the next few weeks. He works three days a week on each show while they overlap. Hopefully because they did the first three of season 2 ahead of time he won't have to miss any episodes of the Originals. He's also in a large ensemble on SH so he's not needed as much in Toronto.
