What the hell just happened? (spoilers)

Saving Hope sure knows how to make season finales. Seriously, that was such a shocking death. Sure we knew Daniel Gilles is on another show but I thought he'd do both at the same time. Or they'd make his character disappear and go somewhere. I can't believe I just saw him get blown into pieces. I'm going to assume now, based on the last line, that the baby is Joel's. Wow, can't wait for next season.this show better not get cancelled,

Daniel Gillies and his wife, Rachael Leigh Cook, recently announced that they are expecting their second child (their first can't be much older than a year now), so, if I had to guess, killing him off had nothing to do with the Originals, per se -- he just wants to spend more time at home.

That's my theory, anyway, If he really wanted to do both, he probably could. The Originals has a nice plot device the showrunners could use to explain his absence.

ETA: The show has already been renewed for a fourth season.

Cram it with walnuts, ugly!

I think he was doing both at the same time, and with another child on the way it was just too much.

Good interview with Gillies, managed to keep the secret he was waving from everyone.

Milo, I've told you again and again - please, don't walk on the chickens!

I was shocked too! I mean why kill him off? They could have just let him leave so he has a chance to return. It was sad and shocking and I would have rather he did not die BUT... damn that was good writing! I saw that horse run in the background and had a feeling that he would die but I didn't think they would do it! I love shows that just kill off main characters, coz we don't expect it. I think it shows guts.

And yes... now I do think that it his baby. So Alex kinda got them both despite making it clear to us that she chose Charlie.

I knew as soon as they rocked up and there was an explosive involved that he would die, I just really hoped he wouldn't. I'm so sad I loved him on the show its the reason I started watching :(

Revenge is a poison. Revenge is fit only for fools and madmen.

Now, can we talk about how stupid it was when they rolled his body into the morgue? You could clearly make out the shape of a face and his body in the black bag.

He was blown up for christ's sake! There wouldn't be much of one -- only body parts, blood and tissue -- he certainly wouldn't remain intact.

Yeah, that was pretty lame. I guess they wanted the added effect of having his body in the morgue downstairs. Maybe they found bits and pieces of his body and threw it in a body bag.

reply

That wasn't necessarily his body (and you're right, it couldn't have been, given how little of him there would have been remaining). If you listened, either one of the main characters or a nurse off screen mentioned that there were two other casualties and maybe some injuries as well. That was the body of one of the other soldiers that was standing guard nearby or perhaps running through the field near Joel to establish a perimeter when he crept outta the tent with the bomb.

What an awesome sad season finally. His other character got blown up 2 weeks ago but he's immortal.

Don't worry it's already been renewed.

"On November 10, 2014, CTV ordered a fourth season of Saving Hope that will consist of eighteen episodes and air in 2015."

reply

do you know when they will air, or hasn't that been said yet
