First-time viewers: Charlie and Alex

Stand By Me just aired on ION in the U.S., and as I expected new viewers are freaking out because Alex just broke Charlie's heart by telling him she doesn't love him anymore.

If you're thinking of quitting or are worried about where it's heading I strongly recommend you keep watching.

Season 3 is a bit of a mess relationship-wise. The writers were trying to work around both Erica Durance's pregnancy and Daniel Gillies' request to leave the show. I believe they wrote things they way they did in an attempt to please the Joel/Alex shippers, and having the possibility of the baby being Joel's.

The medical and ghost storylines are still very enjoyable and interesting. And if you want to know the outcome of S3...

Alex slowly regains her feelings for Charlie, remembers some of her time in limbo, and is once again in love with Charlie. Season 4 is finally rid of the love triangle.

Happy to answer any other questions, general or specific.

Milo, I've told you again and again - please, don't walk on the chickens!

Thanks for the spoiler. I'm watching for the first time in the US. I love Alex with Charlie and cannot imagine why/how she can have any feelings for Joel while still being so in love with Charlie.

When she's in the coma, she and Charlie keep telling each other how much they love one another. And then she tells him she wants to have a baby with him. I don't see how she can feel this way for Charlie and then want to be with Joel.

I read a spoiler here about the love triangle and also about how Joel "leaves" the hospital. Glad to hear that Alex and Charlie will be back together.

Fraaaank. FRANK! Get my jean bin. Susie wants my jeans.

The one ghost warned Charlie that she 'left something behind.' Since her spirit told Charlie she was in love with him and she wanted to have a baby, you think that's what she really wants. But now she has to remember that.

So, you said you could answer questions about the show. I just watched the two episodes with the sweet foster mom and the despicable lawyer both needing one heart and I hate what happens. Does this lawyer's story line get concluded, hopefully with bad things happening to him? He might as well have personally killed the mom and he deserves to suffer for that!

Unfortunately no...as horrible as his actions were, he was legally correct in what he did and could have/would have sued if he had not gotten the donor heart. Though I'm sure he would have lived until he got another one, unlike Layla.

They do follow up with Giselle (the foster daughter) though.

I think it was medically wrong to stop the surgery after she was already sedated. If they had not sedated her, she probably would not have died when she did. They should have given her the heart and let the ridiculous lawsuit run its course. But I guess that's not as dramatic.
