I love the character of Charlie as well as the actor who portrays him. I think the show would work better if they found a new love interest for Charlie. I was so hoping it was going to be the lady from the Listener but no such luck, as she was a ghost. Charlie and Alex just don't fit anymore.

I liked him with Dawn. I know they broke it off but I could see them having another rebound fling...Alex's pregnancy could hit both of them hard, especially if it's Joel's baby. Any future relationship between Charlie and Alex is likely to hinge on who's the father of Alex's baby. But I agree, I don't really like the new Alex with Charlie.
And I also love Michael Shanks. Great talent and easy on the eyes :)

Well, we are talking about a Michael Shanks character on a supernatural/scifi show, so how about if he dies (again) and comes back to life as someone with a new personality and name--although, on this show, likely that would mean they would recycle relationships with Alex and Dawn again.

I am so glad to that he finally landed a decent role and is aging quite well.
You all do know he is married to Lexa Doig, right? She played the clinic doctor in a few episodes in season 3 (three episodes maybe?). She is part Filiapina and was also on Stargate: SG-1 for the last season.
The show is waaay over the top with musical jumping frog sexual partners. Waaay, over the top. If I ignore that, there are other redeeming qualities that keeps me interested.
Too bad I only see 70% of the show. I have to skip the really graphic operations. It not only looks real, but I can tell that they splice in real OR footage. The props are way too realistic. Bodies should be kept on the inside. Yuk. I am aware this show may have desensitized many viewers. It never ceases to horrify me with some scenes. I DO watch some of the procedures. Guts are not as bad as severe compound fractures and missing chunks of muscle and bone.
Too bad that Joe Flannigan's career totally tanked after SG Atlantis was canceled.
Just saying. One out of two isnt bad. Amanda Tapping just got fat. She was unrecognizable in Space Milkshake. Literally.

My husband is a big SG-1 fan, and he said he can't not see Daniel in Charlie. (I think he's way hotter in Saving Hope and very geeky in SG-1, but what do I know?)
And, I watch MOST of this show with my eyes closed. Whenever I do accidentally see something I don't want to see, I try to tell myself that it's just fake, plastic, whatever. I never even thought of them cutting in actual OR footage. I may be finding myself a little more careful when looking to the tv in the future. Bleh.
During Season three the first half they wanted Charlie & Alex not to fit ....I applaud Michael & Erica for there acting.....In Season 4, Charlie fits well with Alex ......In Season 4 Episode 18, Alex passion for Charlie it shows!....So, you have to look at what Saving Hope is trying to portray ....Charlie & Alex love was a strong point in Season 1 & it will be a strong point at the end!
