QUESTION ABOUT A SEASON 4 EPISODE POSSIBLE SPOILERS
I am on season 4 episode 9. possible spoilers ahead.
In this episode the ER is backed up because of the bomb. Dr. Reid's patient gets bumped to the front because he is the one most seriously injured.
Hope Zion looks like a much bigger hospital then I have been a patient in and I have had several surgeries including one instance beginning in the ER. My question is this: How come there is only one operating room in such a massive hospital? I can see how a large hospital would have only one OR in their ER but during such an event all upstairs surgeries that are not life threatening would be taken off the board to free up the operating rooms for the unexpected influx of patients. Any explanations would be appreciated.
