Charlie, possible spoiler

I'm here in the US, so I'm behind. I love "Saving Hope", and I love spoilers.
In the episode "Let Me Go", it says Charlie has his surgery. Why is he having surgery?

I don't mind spoilers either. I am slowly catching up on some episodes from you tube on season 4, but whomever the poster is has mostly posted the odd episodes. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9,10,11,13. 15, 18; so I've only seen 1,3 and 5 so far

In the second half of the season it's discovered he has a meningioma, a small brain tumor.

From this we have the decision on when to remove it, as it is thought to be benign, and whether removing it will effect his ability to see spirits.

Milo, I've told you again and again - please, don't walk on the chickens!

Thank you. Now I don't have to worry that he might die, but I don't want him to lose the ability to see spirits. That's what makes the show above all the other hospital shows.
