THG series=Pathetic ripoffs of the classic BR and BR2

Sorry fangirls and fanboys. It's the truth and we know it and you fools don't.

People woke up to that fact and avoided the last two movies in the series. Hence why they got much lower critics ratings AND the last one ended up getting last place in terms of box office money.

In Paris they call The Hunger Games movies Battle Royale with cheese and they're right. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Your series will NEVER be truly remembered like the Godfather trilogy or stuff like that!

Why not post in the many threads already dedicated to this rather than spamming the boards with new ones that add nothing new what ever your stance on the subject.

reply

I think they books themes are completely different. Battle Royal was more about how survival can and will cause great chaos in the human soul morally and ethically. Mean while Hunger Games is more about how difficult it is to fall in love with two boys.

reply

Wow. I'm Indian and I can tell you almost all Bollywood films are ripped off from Hollywood films so he should be complaining about that if he wants to complain about ripoffs.

reply

Seriously though, do you think a person who has led a successful career on her books and movies will admit that she stole, to say it more properly, I don't think so. It clearly is a ripoff, and again another stolen piece from Japanese modern culture.

reply

And Battle Royale will never be remembered

In broader terms The Hunger Games: Mockingjay is a doing something very interesting. The nature of the business is such that you cannot ignore the audience. The US audience has matured but not enough to fully appreciate a film like "BATTLE ROYALE 2". The mass audiences would never accept the disturbing theme. And although The Hunger Games 2 is a rip off, it needs to be argued that movies like these go a long way to introduce the American audiences to a higher level of acceptance of mature themes. The masses would probably reject BATTLE ROYALE II: REQUIEM today, but maybe in a few years, we might see originals with high octane story lines being accepted by the masses. But what also needs to be
considered is that the conventional running around the trees in Hollywood movies don't attract the crowds anymore, audiences want something more and have begun appreciating change. People have started appreciating good cinema, and bold themes like The Hunger Games will go a long way, encouraging directors to make movies that embrace bold story lines.

The Hunger Games movies, like the books, got worse in succession. They never should’ve ripped off BR2 after ripping off BR.

reply

We don't care about you or your stupid battle royal crap. U R irrelevant just like your boring movie that's literally all about violence with no moving or inspirational plot line.

Hey, tell us how 'Fant4stic' was going to be the best superhero film of 2015...

'Fant4stic' at least shows us what Marvel would be without Bollywood's influence.

So you're saying that without Bollywood's influence, Marvel would:

--Make critically and audience panned films that are too ashamed to embrace their superhero roots or to even have fun.
--Hire directors who are in over their head and who are such basketcases that they become infamous for trashing houses, insulting fans of the source material, and making snide remarks at their own bosses on Twitter.
--Cast actors of different races for the sake of forced diversity.
--Bomb big-time whenever they try to release what should be a successful A-list property.

If that's the case, then I'm glad Marvel's taking cues from Bollywood!

It's a well made ripoff

reply

The only good thing about the Hunger Games series is the killing tournament it ripped off from Hunger Games. That's what made Hunger Games 1 and 2 watchable.

Take that away and the author really has nothing but boring exposition. That's why Hunger Games 3-4 are boring and unwatchable.

Another Amazing Japanese movie. The Japanese and even Koran's seem to be far superior when it comes to making movies, particularly horror movies compared to American's. We have a movie do good and due to the cost of making a movie feel a need to make every other movie after just like it. The Japanese movies are all so unique, creative, and scary without needing a bunch of gore or the typical cliques that we have. This movie was great. Highly recommend it to any horror fan. I don't even know how to describe the movie the description doesn't really do it justice and barely touches on the plot.

And all of that means nothing, nil, nada, zilch. The fact is that nobody knew about the book and when nobody knows anything about a work...that work might as well not exist. The film was never released and I notice that you have stopped saying she copied the film. The Manga had only 40 copies imported into the US amd Takami did not write it, and that's it. If you keep moaning that Collins had to have known about a foreign book then you have to moan about Takami ripping off 'Knights of the Forty Islands', Tolkien, 'Wedlock, Nigel Keene, and using the very old theme of Roman Gladiators. Your biggest problem is that Takami did not write an original story, his themes were all old and well used.
