Yeah, I gave Battle Royale a 7

It was a good movie and I enjoyed it. Come at me even though I still like The Hunger Games a lot more.

MockingjayScreams, you must be a moron to think Mockingjay - Part 2 is anywhere near, let alone, better than Battle Royale 2. Hell, the assault scenes were pathetic, Jen even ran out of breath in the corridor fight scene and took a half hearted swing at one of the thugs who then jumped back like she was smacked by a cannonball.

The plot in Battle Royale 2 is completely different from Mockingjay - Part 2 (from what I hear, as I haven't watched Mockingjay - Part 2 as yet). I won't tell you how, because it will certainly ruin the movie for you. It will suffice to say the plot and twists are too "sensitive" for English audiences.

They are actually nothing alike. Also BR2 was awful, horrible piece of *beep*

This criticism is valid up to a point, considering that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 was also an awful, horrible piece of *beep*, but a watered-down version for PC sensibilities.

The film is too similar to BR2, and it suffers for it. It doesn't really bother me, and I can see why it was made that way (basically, this film was Liongate hitting the "panic" button). But it was overdone, with too much pandering to nostalgia. Still, as long as they use this film as a foundation to start ripping off Japanese favorites on a regular basis, it's not a big deal.

Katniss is overpowered and picks things up too easily, although I believe we'll probably find out why that is later. It's a bit short-sighted to be hollering "she's a Mary Sue" when her origin is as a Japanese male.

Her version of the story is simplistic, and relies too heavily on coincidences. But then, you can say the same about A New Hope and JJ ABrams version of Star Trek as well. People tend to forget that, at heart, Battle Royale 2 is just BR made for kids. How else do you explain a story where an all-powerful totalitarian regime is defeated by a single freedom fighter. mmm?

Can you just shut the *beep* up? Like damn, stop wasting time making false points that nobody gives a sht about anyways

Um, just a heads-up, but OP's points here are actually facts, as opposed to just opinions, as anyone whose seen Battle Royale 2 can tell you.

Looks like Lionsgate is getting pretty desperate. They're next move is going to be an attempt to revive the Saw franchise.

Talk about beating a dead horse!

Either crazed fan/s or Lion$gate propaganda. There was a Twtter-based bot campaign working against Battle Royale 2 discovered 9 months ago and again a month or two ago by a few fanbots, and I supposed the same thing : either nutty fanboys or Lion$gate black-ops.

There is a lot of money on the line here and shaping information and the way people receive it is important. If Billy googles ripoffs and sees a 9/10 IMDB rating he might not distinguish between the User and Critic scores.

The fappening was staged jointly by the publicity managers of the celebs leaked.

I agree that BR2 is more realistic than HG. And that's mostly because HG was set in the future, while BR2 was set in present day. The technology used in BR2 was much closer to what we have today than the technology used in HG, so it's easier to put yourself in the BR2 setting and imagine it happening to you.

The question, though, isn't which one is better (an individual decides that based on personal preference - I liked both, each having their strengths and weaknesses).

The question is whether HG is a rip off of BR2. For me, it is. There are many similarities, yes, enough to warrant it being a blatant rip off.
