This is the worst one!

And the reason is that it had an easy opportunity to be the best one. I mean no one was really expecting much from part 1. But part 2 has Katniss and all of her friends finally getting out of the underground bunker and going on a Capitol invasion mission with traps and deathly threats everywhere. This entire mission could've been an amazingly fun and exciting ride. We could've had our heroes frantically escaping the clutches of peacekeepers and death traps. We could've seen real passion bloom through close calls and danger. But nope. Minus one or two scenes, there is never really any feeling of tension. They are pretty much safe throughout most of the time. They either have the holo or are underground where there are no pods or are in a safe room. Then they walk through war zones like its a slight breeze. The talking moments really didn't advance the story or add tension. They were just sort of there for some reason. The crushingly slow pace really killed the spirit of this movie. It needed more energy. Besides a few scenes, I never felt like I was biting my nails or at the edge of my seat. It wasn't like how it was when they were in the games where there was this uneasy feeling that someone could strike at you any second. I recently rewatched this movie and I literally felt like 90% of the time I was just watching people sitting in a room talking. And for the FINALE, that's pretty underwhelming. So I'm just gonna say it. Mockingjay Part 2 is boring!

Oh yes, World War II was lots of fun.

No, just zombie mutts

Like explaining how Peeta outwitted the brainwashing.

Oh, like a Shakespeare play.

This is a Sci-Fi universe with evil alien creatures and mind control high jacking. How can this be taken realistically.

No, just zombie mutts

i said minus one or two scenes. Every other scene they have the holo or are in a safe room. No real sense of danger. Literally every single new place they got to they felt the need to stop and take a break as if they were in no rush to try and end the district holocaust

Like explaining how Peeta outwitted the brainwashing.

Everything that was talked about had already been explained by Haymitch and Plutarch back in D13.

Oh, like a Shakespeare play.
=============================
Yes, a PLAY! This is an ACTION MOVIE! In plays, everything has to be on stage and be very dialogue heavy because the settings aren't that descriptive.Movies have full freedom to do what they want. This and Shakespeare are nothing alike. People hate Attack of the Clones because it's boring and that it shows a lot of people sitting in a room talking. Can you imagine what it would be like if you gave the "oh like a shakespeare play to that". Not to mention this is a finale that had action in the previous films. So yeah, you could understand why people would feel a little underwhelmed.

reply

Since when were the Hunger Games movies made to be action movies? There's action in them, but that doesn't make them action movies. They're more of a drama and the Mockingjay movies are quite political as well.

reply

BR was hardly original

reply

this is why you should read books before seeing the movies - otherwise you'll expect a lot of action and just be disappointed

reply

I disagree. A good movie should be coherent without the book. Indeed, when Hitchcock made movies he tried to discourage people from reading the underlying books because he wanted to people to experience his effects without prior knowledge. How many people have read Bloch's PSYCHO, compared to the number who have seen the movie?

reply

I did read the books actually. But sense when did acknowledging a flaw in a movie make it good by just saying that it is in the book too?

reply

No. I have read all of The Hunger Games books (including Mockingjay twice) and I was expecting a lot more action from this. But instead, 80% of the movie were people talking and talking and talking and nothing really ever happens. This film was indeed BORING and definitely THE WORST in the franchise.

reply

It was really disappointing and the final scene was just pathetic and completely useless

reply

Not useless at all. It tells us, in a non-blatant way, that the Revolution has succeeded and the Hunger Games are over. One of Katniss's first lines in the series was that "I'm never having kids" because they might be reaped. Now she has two.
