Since you BR fanatics continue to milk a dead cow, I demand you all give me a detailed list of every little detail that the HG supposedly ripped off of BR. Summaries do not count. Being vague does not count. Give me specifics, down the last detail. P.S stop making these threads as if you just invented fore and you want to tell the world. You've remade the same "HG is a ripoff" thread over and over again, regardless of weather you're right or not. Get over yourselves.
Probably a lot easier to list off the few differences, as opposed to the myriad similarities:
1) The sappy, tacked-on "hopeful" epilogues, changing the dropping conclusion of BRII from being too controversial for American palettes. The change almost implies that Katniss is healed because of her marriage and family with Peeta. In BRII, Shuya is only able to get married and start a family once he puts the BR ACT behind him.
2) The Hero is played by a female.
3) There's less Kawada (Plutarch), and a lot of his best scenes from BRII were not even included (?)
4) Effie and Haymitch kiss, although Shogo never kissed the video-training-girl in BRII, unless its from the mana or the elusive "directors cut", which I cannot claim to have seen.
5). Unlike Shuya and Matsuko in BRII, their American counter-parts (Katniss and Joanna) don't train for war.
6) Shuya kills a Capitol civilian, Katniss does not -- perhaps to maintain the rated-G status og THG series (?)
@summerinertia Those aren't similarities, therefore that is no evidence to say that the HG is a rip off. You did not answer my question, and thus your post isn't really relevant.
@Mahmoud-Buttrumps and @Der-Pygmy-Barn Neither of you answered my question, you guys simply dodged it by complaining about the Hg not being violent enough. If you cannot offer solid, detailed evidence then you people truly are trolls. You refuse to appropriately defend your standpoint, most likely because you don't even have a good argument (the one you have already is terrible already), and your excuse is that you can't be bothered to elaborate it. Sure enough, however, you're not bothered when you repost the same thread every other day.
And now you are trying to change the subject entirely, and end with "Post invalidated." (Although I do agree that a prequel is just overkill.)
You refuse to answer the question. You are a troll who is deluded with the fact that anything produced from the U.S is automatically a rip off, despite the fact that you always fail to provide evidence.
Your baseless opinion is invalidated. (unless you provide an actual argument)
Once again, you fail to actually answer the question. Do us all a favor. Stop making so many puppet accounts and piss off if you're not going to actually going to settle this repetitive crap.
Well, if you think bitching, whining, and making accusations without actual evidence makes you a better person than the people you are mocking, then you might want to rethink things through.
Although many have ststed otherwise, these movies and books clearly plagiarized the two vastly superior Battle Royale books and movies. I finally got my hands on a bootleg copy of the directo'rs cut of Battle Royale 2: Requiem. Suzanne Collins and her editor lied and clearly knew about it and should be sued. Besides, your movies and books aren't even good, anyway. Jennifer Lawrence is an overrated diva who puts on a fake "nice and normal act", and the rest of the cast really, really looks like they have no idea what they're doing except for Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Sounds like you were watching "Captain America" and confusing it with Mockingjay. "There is no "American man as superhero" in this movie. To start with, the main character is a girl.
The cast is awful, The scenery is dreary, and there is no plot in this movie. the directors have only substituted one line in the whole screenplay: the title page. I had already seen this film when it was called "Battle Royale"
People woke up to that fact and avoided the last two movies in the series. Hence why they got much lower critics ratings AND the last one ended up getting last place in terms of box office money.
In Paris they call The Hunger Games movies Battle Royale with cheese and they're right. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Your series will NEVER be truly remembered like the Godfather trilogy or stuff like that!
You demand? Puh! and who do You think You are? It seems like You are the one who needs to get over Yourself. Battle Royale fans have already stated multiple times why they feel the Hunger games stole from Battle Royale, just go back and look at those old thread posts.
The only redeeming part of the movie were some really excellent and enjoyable visuals, especially on the cgi stuff. If you really don't know or care that much about BR2 you will probably enjoy this movie. Anyone who really likes Battle Royale 2 and cares about it will simply be less disappointed watching the American's attempts at plagiarism.
They wanted to make an American remake, and the studios said that it was too dark, and people wouldn't like kids killing each other.
Now that Hunger Games happened, they realize they were wrong, and people totally do want to watch kids kill each other. Problem is now people will just think it's a Hunger Games ripoff.

If you get Flix, Battle Royale 2: Requiem is on tonight at 11:10 Eastern and again on FlixW at 2:10 AM. Consult your local listings. Remember, any similarity between this movie and Mockingjay - Part 2 is all Jennifer's fault.
