ripoff?

Just caught Part 1 of this back-to-back on the Family channel with Battle Royale 2. Did Suzanne Collins ever offer any explanation as to why she lied about ripping off Battle Royale, and failing to even release any "official" statement regarding her plagiarisms of it sequel, "Battle Royale 2: Chingkonka" as well?

Theres a lot of trolls on here claiming Mockingjay is a Battle Royale ripoff, they've obviously never seen Battle Royale 2.

I notice Collins avoided even mentioning it when she insisted she had "never heard of" Battle Royale.

So far, I think, hmmm, semi-kind of plagiarism is really lucrative in the entertainment business. Borrow, rewrite a few things, get casting right, proceed with marketing and you have yourself a potential revenue-profiting mega-hit on the table.

I thought it was supposed to be "not a ripoff" of Battle Royale 2: Requiem, though...

Looks like BR2 was a huge international cult hit. According to every last online source I checked, it's basically the Harry Potter of Asia.

Wonder if Collins realized that before she signed her own name to Takami's original works?
