I guess im the only one that liked this

im 24 years old I was born in the 90s (1991) I guess its because im a 90s baby I don't mind Hollywood remaking everything in sight I saw this remake . poltergeist remake last year. remakes of Halloween 1 and 2. Friday the 13th. nightmare on elm street. wolfman. true grit. red dawn. dark shadows. and fright night all in theatres

to each his own I guess

"Touchdoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooown Auburn"

I thought the "carrie" remake was great as well as "dark shadows" and even though I'm not a big western fan, I like "true grit".

Seen the original at the drive in. The thing with redoing or reimaging you have some room to do some things. All in I think this version was good Chloe did a good job as Carrie

reply

I liked it too. I'm glad they added some "new" things to it - Chris using her cellphone to record people throwing Tampons at Carrie then posting it online. Since a lot of people use the internet now, and bullying occurs on the internet, this would be something that Chris would do.

reply

Seems pointless when Carrie doesn't have internet and there was never a scene showing the incident being played on the internet.

But the girls decided to put it up there for other users to see, that's what bullies do. Where I live there was a website where you could post anything and some users were always posting hate threads about people they knew (and these were people that they, along with their friends, bullied). Even though the website was local, people as far as the UK heard of it. It didn't matter if Carrie had internet or not; one of hate threads a cyberbully made of a person on the local website wasn't found by the person until two months after the cyberbully posted the hate thread. Many users had contributed to the hate thread, saying nasty things about the person, even though the person never did anything to them. Cyberbullies do things like this for others to see/to see what others say.

I could see a movie all about internet bullying a girl or whatever, but just to show a few seconds of it in Carrie didn't add anything to the movie. It wasn't much of a plot. The movie pretty much dismisses the plot throughout the movie then springs it on us at the prom and we're suppose to feel sorry for a girl falling down wrapped in a towel.

I saw the Special Features on the DVD. It was said that the reason the cellphone was used, the video was put up, was to make the movie suited for "modern times" and it was also mentioned that they wanted Chris to cyberbully as well; once again, to put the movie in "modern times".

but everything else was copied form the original script-so much so that the original screenplay writer got a writing credit

reply

She was a huge reason why the movie failed and is hated-she didn't work at all. Check out Sissy Spacek-that was the way to play this part

reply

I loved this film. It's better than the original. So is the 2002 version. Sissy was Just bad, especially that accent. That is not for Carrie. I don't care if she won an award for her performance. It's bad! Chloe, Julianne, Ansel, Gabriella (totally), all so much better. Even Angela Bettis is better than Sissy (that version was wonderful, so close to the book except for the ending)

reply

It's not better than the original.

Sorry, but have to call "idiot" here. The 1976 film is hailed as one of the best horror movies of all time. This movie is a HUGE failure-box office, critically and no one even thinks about it anymore! I suggest you rent some horror movies right away-classic-start with Carrie 76, The Exorcist, Evil Dead-because you don't what the *beep* youre talking about

reply

No you're not. The film is pretty great at some parts and the music is beautiful.
