Do you watch porn?
Kinda OT to the movie but in relation to addictions or whatever (perhaps).
I do, not excessively or daily but maybe once/twice a week.
It'd be quite interesting to see which gender watches it most too

In terms of addictions, yes, far too much. I rarely even like it.
I enjoy movies like Shame which show the ugly side of sex. There's a movie that uses sex and nudity very well.
I really don't like the constant Hollywood glorification of poor sexual behaviour, especially on cable television. When you see a movie like Shame that makes such good use of sex to convey emotion, it makes the utterly ridiculous and gratuitous scenes on shows like Game of Thrones completely laughable. There was one scene of a woman being raped that had to linger on her bouncing ass close-up then pan up to her bouncing boobs. I mean, really?
i do almost daily, i am guessing most males do to, i can not speak for females but i am guessing as time goes by more females are started to watch porn to, it is a poor mans meal, like going to McDonald instead of paying for Sunday's full roast dinner.

Of course, but for about 15 minutes at a time tops. That's why I know damn well movies like this are NOT porn, no matter how much idiots and prudes want to claim that.
I don't think it necessarily ruins your "appetite for real food". My appetite has been ruined for a long time and it had nothing to do with porn. Most porn addicts are also sex addicts. I watch porn because I just don't care enough about sex to bother doing anything else.
"Let be be finale of seem/ The only emperor is the Emperor of Ice Cream"
I do. I would have watched "Nymphomaniac I&II" in all their dreary European pseudo-intellectual sensationalist glory IF the sex was real. If you can get all the actors to use their own toolboxes for the job, then there's something I can feast my eyes on. Otherwise, it's overly familiar softcore-made-hardcore tedium. With today's technology, filmmakers can seamlessly patch in hardcore footage, but the principle remains the same.
I don't like the idea that I'm not seeing Charlotte Gainsbourg get shagged. It's like the movie's lying to me!
I watched some excerpts from Nymphomaniac. The plot device of a woman recounting her sex life to a man is a quick way to string sex scenes together (to wit: George Lazenby and Sylvia Kristel in "Emmanuelle Forover" from 1993). Anybody who stayed up to ungodly hours watching tedious Cinemax softcore knows what I mean.
Ah, but that was eighties and I was a teenage boy. I would sit through all kinds of flat dialog and dull plots in hopes of catching a flicker of boob, butt, or pubic hair. Today, I have high-speed Internet with limitless free tube sites. I can see anything I want. I just type it into the search bar. Thus, the impetus to take four hours and watch "Nymphomaniac I&II" is gone.
