So is this a rip off of Paranormal Activity?
Or a rip off of Blair Witch or a rip off of something else entirely?

No, it's a movie in a genre called found footage. Is The Hangover a rip-off of Ace Ventura because they are both comedies?
"Why do people visit boards of movies they dislike to complain? Absolutely nothing else to do!"
It's yet another movie in a very old and long line of movies (starting in 1979) upon a real house that use to be in Amityville, New York (has since been remodeled to discourage idiots from gawking) that was the site of a mass murder and later a fake haunting story to use as an insanity defense.
"found footage" is now considered it's own genre from it's over use, if this movie will even use it, but the haunted house story is from well over 30 years ago.

Thank goodness they ditched the found footage idea... they already did it in "Amityville Haunting" anyway and that was horrid.

thank god. not that it won't make this movie sucks, but it will at least make it watchable.

The house's street number was also changed. I never said the house was gone anyway; I said it was remodeled and the house, as it appear in the movies, is gone from Amityville.
shareI was responding to this:

Both those movies suck so good luck with this one.
