Trailer looks interestingly promising but...
...I have grown to give up on looking forward to the actual movie itself. This is especially after watching many of the horror movies in recent years that had so much potential shown in their trailers I was utterly disappointed in the end. Most of the time felt really bored. The only reason why I stayed on in my seat was because I did not want my money gone wasted.
Nevertheless, as much as I'm ever enthralled and fascinated by the Amityville case, I don't want to invest much anticipation on watching the movie. Although needless to say I will see it just because it looks interesting.
However, I have to be fair in saying that there were also fairly good horror films in recent years. Take INSIDIOUS, SINISTER and even THE CONJURING for examples. And when I was watching SINISTER, I thought that that was how the Amityville premise should had been given - that lingering aftertaste of unsettled creepiness that set in after leaving the theater.
And it was perhaps also by chance that the producers of SINISTER and INSIDIOUS decided to revisit the whole Amityville story. And hopefully, they would give it a much need boost in scaring the audience off their pants in this one.
