PG-13?
I just heard a rumor that they may be watering this down to PG-13. The new poster having a "not yet rated" listing combined with the reshoots. I hope not. This movie is quite low-budget. They're not going to lose any money.
shareI noticed that as well. I doubt they're changing much of the story itself, so I wonder if they're reshooting to get a PG-13 rating.
They will surely gain money with that rating,, driving younger and therefore a wider audience to go see it, which is financially smart but I hope the film itself doesn't suffer from a possible new rating.
Anatidaephobia; the fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.
Possibly even dubbing over f words.
I truly hope this isn't what is going on with the film.

Reading a variety of sources, I have concluded that the reason for the delay is because of two separate test screenings held by The Weinstein Company to get some feedback on the title. Rumor has it both screenings were met with extremely positive reviews; however, most audience members were somewhat unhappy with the ending of the film. Many sources believe Dimension Films have gone back to reshoot some important scenes and record material to spruce up the ending. When you add post-production time onto the re-shoots, obviously, it’s going to be a little while before Amityville: The Awakening gets the green light to head to theaters. The wait time shouldn’t be unmeasurable, though.

Perhaps that's all the recent reshoots were for, to change the ending. And the reason they happened so late is Bella Thorne's busy schedule. share
I'm hoping that's the case.
