Alternatives while we wait for AWAKENING?

While i am beyond annoyed that AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING has been delayed yet again (!!!??!!), a quick look on imdb shows that there are 3 or possibly 4 new AMITYVILLE flicks coming soon.

AMITYVILLE: VANISHING POINT hits VOD on the 1st...and it looks god-awful (It's a cheap-o Troma thing). I've no idea when "AMITYVILLE: NO ESCAPE" hits, but the trailer I saw makes it look like crap (hikers lost in the woods---they pass the Amityville house, which apparently is secluded in the woods somewhere, during their hike and BLAIR WITCH-like madness ensues...in the woods, NOT in the house). "AMITYVILLE TERROR" looks the most promising, but I've no info on it's release date either. Hmm. There's also something listed as "AMITYVILLE HIGH" for this year---but it's IMDB page says it's still in pre-production.

AWAKENING can NOT be nearly as bad as the last 3 or 4 direct-to-video AMITYVILLE turds or the other upcoming ones. Hurry up and release it already!

I totally agree. It's too bad that the Amityville story is quasi-public domain (Not the Lutz's story so much as the real life Defeo murders and the notoriety of the house and its allegedly being haunted) so that anyone and everyone can churn out a piece o' crap and call it a "film". One of the new ones (AMITYVILLE: NO ESCAPE") looks like it just tacked in a similar looking house that the characters walk by and the rest of the time they run about the woods--like it was a completely different movie they just tried to tie in to the Amitycville series to get some name recognition (and an audience). UGH! Such crap!
