Half Man-Half Biscuit on soundtrack

Can I just say how frickin' ecstatic I was to hear Half Man Half Biscuit's opening riff to Trumpton Riots used on the soundtrack! Must be the first use of a HMHB track on any film soundtrack.

For those not sure..it's the music playing as Marty sees the advert Billy put in the paper for 'psychopaths wanted'

This Birkenhead boy was very happy to hear that. There was no way they were going to use the whole song, though, it just wouldn't have made sense to anyone.

. . . I remember the same feeling when hearing John Cooper Clarke's "Chickentown" at the end of a Sopranos episode - " am I really hearing this?"

reply

Same with W.S Burroughs' Seven Souls! I had the same reaction (that was on the Sopranos, too, I mean).

But yeah, HMHB on a film score, surely a first.

"Boom boom boom, let me hear you say hosepipe ban"

reply

Wasn't it the best thing ever... This has to the first and only time HMHB gets used in a movie.

I hear voices in my head... but I ignore them and carry on killing.
