Bad scripts

The scenario Marty is writing is so incredibly lame and uninteresting! I know it is supposed to be a caricature or a satire, but in fact it reproduces exactly what it is suppose to destroy. I couldn't wait for those parts with the "Psychopaths" to end and felt embarrassed for Martin McDonagh. And the stories of Hans and Zack are so alike it almost feel like he had no inspiration for those characters.

Same thing with sexism. The film goes out of his way to tell us how women are badly depicted in Hollywood film, but it does exactly the same. All the women characters are called bitch or *beep* and disposable. And the prostitute that is super literate? Wow, what an industry changing idea! Same thing with the violence: hey, let make a movie that is supposed to criticize violence, but actually base all its gags on it!

Seriously, In Bruges was fun but this on takes itself way to seriously trying to be an anti-Hollywood movie while being just that. It is a *beep* of clichés. You can't have your cake and eat it...

Well said. This movie is bad.

The whole movie is a tongue-in-cheek commentary on Hollywood cliches, while jokingly having it's own set of cliches. It's a self-aware film, so maybe that's what you're missing.

Kind of like Scream, the cliches are pointed out (even by its own characters), but they ultimately end up doing EXACTLY what they're poking fun at.

Like jpower said, y'all missed it.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Erm ... don't you understand that this movie kind of tells the story of it's own creation? What we see is Marty's story. Marty writes Hollywood stories like everyone else, they are sexist and so on. He tries to change but ultimately all these elements keep on creeping back in, no matter how much he tries to prevent it.
Remember, a lot of moviegoers are exact like Billy that would want movies to end with big showdowns and all the clichés this movie talks of and makes fun of. But still, what we see is what Marty wrote.
