desert shot from "se7en" ?

there's this one shot where Marty and Billy are watching Charlie arriving from a distance.
it reminded me so much of the wide shot in se7en where they drive into the desert. did anybody else catch that too or did i just imagine that?

You're right, I caught that too and was looking to see if they were going to make a clever reference (they didn't). Makes sense, both were filmed in the LA area though.

I think it was definitely intentional, with a humorous take by switching the pylons out for wind turbines.
