unrealistic

while i can appreciate the message this film was going for…i don't think this film portrayed bullying accurately.

how often do you see people that look like the lead character get picked on in real life situations? its usually people who don't appear to fit in to whats conventionally attractive/appealing whom are picked on.

why does the mainstream entertainment industry always seem to simply slap reading glasses on some pretty boy or take a cute girl whom dresses awkwardly and expects the audience…particularly bully victims to identify or relate with the characters that supposed to represent them. its completely unrealistic and deminishes the desired message of the film.

i was never picked on but i've defended many a nerd in my time…all the while occasionally jeopardizing myself in the process.

i just don't think many bully films feel real to me. go to any school…check out the people whom are picked on for the most part and decide if people like them are accurately being portrayed in cinema. i can assure you…they're not.

they're excluded because they aren't "appealing" enough.

also did any find the friendships in this film to be a bit flaky?? i mean where is the loyalty???? ditching/abandoning your friends when they need the most??? the irony is that she takes them back in the end…wow. who needs friends like those?
