Why did Taylor friend Lindsay in the first place?

It's clear that they never actually liked each other, so what's the deal there?

"I have been felt up, stalked, and called Taylor Swift. Could you please just cut me some slack?!"

I don't think it was set up in a similar way to the "friending" in facebook... idk it's one of the things that isn't made very clear.

Taylor wasn't the smartest bulb in the pack.

It's more of an open site where you can view anybody's profile and comment without permisson from that person.

I think it was implied at the beginning that Taylor always wanted to be liked and accepted by Lindsay. They may have even been sort of friends for a while, though it was never clear. In the first scene, Taylor was messaging her friend saying "Lindsay's been weird to me ever since that stupid day in class."

Taylor was a total moron, that's why. And she kept obsessing over the next thing Lindsay said about her. Taylor was asking to be bullied.

Are you stupid ? No one *beep* asks to be bullied! No one deserves to be bullied and if you're saying something like that you've never been bullied and you were probably the bully! Its like saying that if a woman is raped that she was asking for it because of the clothes she was wearing ! Or someone was robbed because they went to buy fancy clothes! People like you are what make this society *beep*

The difference between a rape victim and a bullying victim (at least in Taylor's case), is that no one can predict when they are going to be raped.

Taylor made a choice to add Lindsay to her friend's list or whatever on Clicksters, someone that she KNEW didn't like her in the first place, and so she did kind of bring it upon herself.
