it's a pity that in English language films Karel is relegated to such awful roles.. he's SUCH a good actor.. I live in Prague and have seen him both on stage and in Czech films -- he's sooooo good.. the roles he plays in Czech films would be roles that someone like Gary Oldman or Ralph Fiennes would play in English language films..
I think that "15 Minutes" is the only English language film he's got a good role in.. that and a little film called "Shut Up and Shoot Me" which is a UK/CR production, a good little, black comedy, set in Prague.
so if you like Karel Roden, look that one up :) or watch some Czech films with subtitles
oh yeah and this film looks interesting
