Love is blind


All these people wondering why Oldman wasn't more questioning. Apparently some folk are unfamiliar with the expression love is blind.

I can't help but wonder at the questions raised in some of the reviews and the other board comments.

For example: "The main question rolling around in my brain was why would Virgil choose Robert as his confidant when he and Billy were friends for years?"

Is your best friend an expert in all matters in your eyes? The font of all knowledge?

They've been friends, as said, for years. So you would know whether they were a good sounding board for advice on women wouldn't you? We never see either with a female companion so he probably sees no particular source of expertise to tap into.

Now consider what we do see with Oldman. In his time at the repair shop he observes Robert in a relationship with a woman and in addition there are other female customers flirting with him and kissing him. Is there anyone he comes across appearing to be better placed to give advice about the woman he's falling for?
