Sorry, but who used Super 8 in 1998? Would have been shot on video.

Yes and no. Technically, Super 8 was still usable as late as 2007 or 2008 - if you could find the film for it. That made it a stretch yes, but if you HAD the film and a working camera, there were still developers for it. Probably more so in the time frames used here. Much to the convenience of this movie, granted. I think they wanted 8mm to be used to give it a grittier feel. And it worked, in my opinion.

Yes those creepy old film reels really gives the creepiness atmosphere for the movie.. great touch!

My father in law did. Lol We eventually moved him over to video recorders. My father in law has now passed and we’ve put most of the film on dvd for family keepsakes
