This movie made me rethink my outlook on life

Tatum overachieves and does well with an atrocious script. McConaughey's character is an obscene caricature. The script is so unimaginative and riddled with trope after trope after trope, that I wish I had thought of the Floridian male stripper tale of complacency to redemption story and cashed in on such an untapped niche of social commentary.

Soderbergh - really?

Definitely on specs alone - a wise investment for producers. But was this a joke? Are we being played here? Did I miss a disclaimer at the start of the film?

I resisted watching this but now that I have I repeat, it wasn't so bad. Taking it seriously is the mistake. I agree that MM's character is a caricature, but that was the point. One reviewer of the movie said his character dripped sleaze or something like that, and I have to agree. That's what made it fun.
