Girls, you've been tricked, this was actually a man's movie.

How many tits were there? TONS

How many full frontal men were there? NONE

How many stripped scenes were there? Just the ones in the trailer

Lmao, you really think women HAVE to see nudity to find a man sexy? You think a woman has to see a man's penis to think this was a woman's movie? If that is the case, movies like 28 Days later, Trainspotting and Get Rich or Die Trying are "women" movies.

THANK YOU OP. I was just about to say the same thing. This was a damn joke. A disappointment. A little sexist if you ask me. Kind of like "oh lets make a reallllllyyyyy sexy movie women will love. There will be tons of male strippers....and none of them will strip. Women will go crazy! Nudity? Nah...women are too pure and modest to want to see an actual man naked. Why would women want to see an actual male stripper, strip?"

Thats what I got from it.
So disappointed. It was indeed a man's movie.

And yes, @GinerSnaps, some of of straight women actually LIKE seeing penises.

You can walk up a good number of men and ask to see his penis and he will practically scrape the skin off of his dick with his zipper in his hurry to show you. Seeing a penis in movies is really not that big a deal.

I'd have some serious concerns about any woman who goes to a mainstream big budget movie hoping to see male frontal nudity. Of course there would be none. #1- Real life male strippers do not go full frontal (except in some strip clubs where there is no alcohol). #2- Women don't lust after nudity in the same way men do (porn consumers, prostitute customers, etc.). 3-Men are much more sexually stimulated and visually oriented in general, and usually more superficial. You'll find more g-looking women with plain men than g-looking men with plain women. It is just society and nature. Men and women are different and there will always be "double standards" that work for and against women. Considering both genders as equal is not to say there aren't huge innate differences.

I am embarrassed for them when I see women screaming for men because they are wearing a g-string. It's like they have so little self-respect that they are desperate for whatever crumbs they can get, and the strippers are making fun of them behind their backs as they take their money. Most female strippers feel that way about men too.

@GingerSnaps:

Your stereotyping does neither us nor society any good. There are women who would flash their breasts with not much incentive. But thats neither here nor there. You are TOTALLY missing the point.

It IS a big deal to see penises in a movie for several reasons, and even more in this movie in particular for even more reasons. This is a movie about male strippers and all we see is female nudity. Thats a big middle finger in the face to females in society. I research sexuality so I can guarantee that I know more about this subject than you. Dont think that is an accident. The fact that we did not see male nudity, but instead female nudity in a movie about guys who get naked for a living is a big problem in the spectrum of gender and media today.

And speak for yourself when you say seeing penises are not a big deal. Not every grown woman is still in that "eww look its a penis" stage like you seem to be. Some of us grown women enjoy sex and enjoy seeing penises of hot men.

The only thing that made me laugh harder than this is the Hannibal Burress stand up I listened to earlier (dude is hilarious). Are we seriously arguing about penises here? North Korea just launch several "test" missiles, and we are arguing about seeing penises in movies. Oh wait, missiles are kind of penis shaped, so I guess it's not a big deal.

Do you watch movies and mark in your notebook everytime you see a penis or something? Am I wrong for laughing at all this as hard as I am?

Not every grown woman is still in that "eww look its a penis" stage like you seem to be.

And how long before you call me a prude or bible-thumper?

I'm Finnish and probably about 90% of movies produced in my country show penises. There's always a sauna scene with male frontal nudity, even in "guy films." Big whoop. I'm a woman and I don't find penises at all erotic, it's not a pretty thing fun though it may be. There are more attractive parts in a male body, namely every part. Also how are breast and penis comparable?

I don't have strong feelings about this movie, it was okay. But saying because of the lack of penises shown on-screen this is a guys' film is like saying porn's for women and well, gross.

reply

Seems I'm in the wrong country then.. It's a very different thing when you never see a penis in a movie - then it IS unusual.

I agree with the OP... good points.

No, this is a movie about Mike, aka Magic Mike, a guy who tries to improve his life and get the girl.

You waited 2 months to copy and paste the exact same post from before. That is just lazy.

LMFAO! We're talking about seeing penises in movies here! Are you taking this THAT seriously?

Sometimes I can barely respond to you, I am literally laughing too hard to type.

Thats a big middle finger in the face to females in society.

And all this time I thought things like pay inequality, sexual assault and domestic violence were a big middle finger. Someone get Gloria Steinem on the phone and tell her she's been missing the REAL blow to feminism all these years.

You keep mentioning that like it makes the fact you are mad about not seeing a penis in this movie any less silly.

And speak for yourself when you say seeing penises are not a big deal. Not every grown woman is still in that "eww look its a penis" stage like you seem to be. Some of us grown women enjoy sex and enjoy seeing penises of hot men.

You mainly sound like a horny, thirsty pervert.

I don't think you're comparing apples to apples. We saw pretty much as many penises as vaginas (none). Breasts are not the same as penises IMO. We saw plenty sexy pectorals, muscles, abs, and arms.

Also, I am a girl and I like tits. Win for me.

Happy birthday to the ground!

I think you missed a scene. The one where half the screen is taken up by Ritchie's dick in a pump.

Since when are tits nudity?
Is this grade school?

Nudity to me is vagina visible (shaved) and penis...to actually see the genitalia

I saw a cock. In a tube. Being enlarged.
Did you see a vagina?

Tits are nothing.

Anyways...go watch floppy frontal in game of thrones if thats their thing

Its also a dialogue that never happens with my european friends. Nudity is nudity. Its the human form. Big fn deal. Grow the f up.

reply

People, people, people...there is absolutely no way you are ever going to see a
woman's vagina unless you are her gynecologist...you may see her vulva, shaved or not...but never her vagina...that organ is up inside a woman.

All the women I know would not be interested in seeing penis dancing...geez..we want the fantasy...and as far as I know, it was illegal for the male dancers to dance nude.

reply

I'm not disputing your post or trying to be a smart azz here but this line:

All the women I know would not be interested in seeing penis dancing

made me want to reply with two words: Velvet Goldmine.
It's the only movie I can think of where a "dancing penis" is indeed rather entertaining
(This is largely thanks to Ewan McGregor's wonderful acting.)

If you can't see vagina, you're doing it wrong.
