Forgive me for saying this, but I was a little confused by the title and subsequent post for this topic. If you didn't like the movie, that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion; however, you seem to be a genuine Channing fan yet totally rip a movie based on his idea and life! This movie would have been nothing without Channing quite literally because he and Steven Soderbergh came up with the whole thing; it was an vehicle for CT because SS liked working with the guy (in "Haywire" iirc) and thought it would make a good film (and personally, I thought it was). It just comes across as a little shallow to drool all over the guy yet rip apart something so personal to him into which he put so much time, thought and energy. It is not like ripping "G.I. Joe 2" or something.
I agree with you though that the female lead, Cody Horn, was not a very smart casting decision. She is not a very good actress, especially in regards to facial expressions and control, and I agree with another poster that their chemistry was luke-warm, at best. Soderbergh has a tendency (like his light filter choices mentioned in another thread) to take leaps on female leads in his independent/low-budget/personal-project flicks. For example, "The Girlfriend Experience" with Sasha Grey was a rather poor film in my opinion and she was pretty bad in that film (and I actually support adult film stars who try to make the transition to mainstream film/television). Another topic though.
