So sick of seeing bloodthirsty teenage girls in movies.

Characters like Hit Girl in Kick Ass, Libby in Super and this repulsive girl Roxy...ugh!

Stop.

It's because all men like young girls. ;)

I'm better than you.

and this repulsive girl Roxy...ugh!

Repulsive? Roxy's adorable! I loved Hit Girl too, now I'll have to check out this movie Super as I haven't seen it yet.

I think it comes down to personality temperament.

As an INTJ, I love Roxy's somewhat insane ENTP nature. My last girlfriend was a lot like Roxy (different temperament though - INFP). I call girls like this "my kind of crazy" lol. I think it's because as an INTJ I'm so buttoned-down and mellow around other people, but secretly I fantasize about doing wild and crazy things. Thus, I'm attracted to females who aren't afraid to be that way themselves and who encourage me to indulge my wild side.

Slightly insane femme fatales are definitely not your "girl next door", so it's no surprise if they aren't popular with people who have a traditionalist mindset. They do appeal to those of us with more... exotic tastes, however. :D

Roxy is an emotionless murderer, what planet are you on when you say she was a lot like your last girlfriend? You made the dumbest douchbag statement ever.

reply

How do you know his girlfriend isn't an emotionless murderer? ;)

It's okay, the smart people understood what he meant.

Not me, I can't get enough.

Here here! I'd like more bloodthirsty teenage girls in movies, please.

Roxy is the only teenager out of those three though. Hit Girl was 10 years old, Roxy is 16, and Ellen Page (Libby from Super) is far from a teenager, she was 23 when she made that movie.

How about, I'm sick of seeing cynical, miserable middle-aged men suffering mid-life crises (the guy in this movie, American Beauty). Or nerdy teenage boys becoming crime-fighting heroes whilst trying to lose their virginity (too many movies to list: Superbad, Kick-Ass, Spiderman as well tbh).

Word, this movie is an unprecedented break from decades of perpetual wanton bullshíttery. People compare it to Kick-Ass and other modern appeasements to rampant permavirgins, but I see it as an overdue step forward in an overwhored, dying film business.

If you think Kick-Ass is a "modern appeasement to rampant premavirgins" then you have not understanding of the franchise.

reply

I wish I didn't understand it at the level I do, son, I wish I didn't...

Ok, since you think you understand it, explain it to me then.

Busy. Ask a random fuçktard on 4chan. They'll be happy to tell you all about it and their favorite underage hero Hit Girl.

That is such a *beep* cop-out. If you can't actually back up your words, then don't bother saying them. That way you don't have to spew *beep* in order to get out of having a reasonable discussion.

And what do I get out of enlightening one cubicled mouth-breather out of 10 million? I'm not paid to expound diddly shít to you.

Almost every movie you find will feature those two plot points you mentioned. Do you know why? Because everyone likes an underdog. And Superbad in no way features a nerdy teenage boy who becomes a crime-fighter. It's about some teenagers, who are socially inept, trying to break the law to get some pussy. And Frank isn't cynical. He is realistic. He doesn't think everyone is horrible. He just thinks that the horrible people are one of the things that make life unbearable. Other things being his intense head pains, and the tumor he believes is in his head.

Hit Girl was 13 in Kick-ass 1 as two years later in Kick-Ass 2 she is fifteen.

But... they're so adorable.

I think that in most guy's psyches there exists a desire to want to protect our wives/sisters/daughters and that the idea of an aggressive "kick-ass" type of girl that can defend herself without us being there all the time gives a warped sort of calmness to that part of our minds.

It's the idea that "even if I go away the girl I care about will be OK".

Movies are like super easy to not watch, even easier than not watching commercials. You could try that or just keep being forced to watch movies by your girlfriend, wife, sister, or dad. I hope for you though that someday you develop a backbone and learn the word no. Then you can tell who ever it is that is forcing you to watch this stuff that you won't be watching it anymore and then you can go watch Frozen which is more your speed.

If you love Cheezits and are 100% proud of it copy this and make it your signature.
