So people in France don't double park or talk in movies?
God give me a break. What a pretentious movie.

It was the musings of a 16 year old schoolgirl. Frank only wanted to go because he wouldn't be extradited if he went there.
Pay attention next time.
You can be extradicted from France for murder but only under certain circumstances. The biggest one there and in other countries without a death penalty is that you have to agree not to invoke the death penalty when they are tried in the US.
This has lead to long drawn out arguments until the other country tells you: agree to cut bait. It isn't negotiable. The US authorities finally end up agreeing and asking for a mandatory life sentence.
Frank is no expert on extradition.
I thought France did have extradition. Plus I thought the US and France were friends?

shareThe objective was to move to a country that hates America, which to be honest is pretty much every other country these days..
shareThat's not true, French people don't hate America. We criticize it a lot, because some aspects of its culture are a bit "alien" to us (the undeniable right to have a gun, the influence of religion on medias and everyday life), but still, it's a country that is attractive for a lot of us and I don't see why not (again, on some aspects only).
What I will never understand is the idea that American people have of France, like Roxy in the movie ! If some places are A BIT like the idealized vision of France, the mainstream, dominant culture is not foreign to the american's. And it's the same in England, and I guess it's the same in other occidental countries (but I can't tell for sure, I've not travelled much).
We have despicable trash TV, we have all the wannabe reality stars, we have all the in-your-face advertisement, the constant need for medias to do "the buzz", fads and events that everybody talks about and which vanishes the next day like it's never existed, people who live through their Iphones and think brands are godlike, stupid people who only think about short-term solutions because they are only thinking about their comfort, who waste, who would sell their kidney if it meant being richer, and the constant brainwashing by medias, politics, and brands that to be happy, you have to be cool, and to be cool, you need to have all these pricey things and say the right thing at the right time.
So, to keep on track with this movie, Roxy and Frank would have escaped very little in France. They would have had TONS of people to kill. This disease is pretty much common to all occidental countries and keeps spreading.
Sorry if I strayed too much or didn't write properly, but I really felt the need to say something :)
Sure they double park and talk in movie theaters. They just don't bathe or shave their underarms... what? what?... p.s. God Bless Jerry Lewis
You're damned if you do and damned if you don't ~ Bart Simpson
They kill rude people and they want to move to France? It'll be a bloodbath.

Come to east Asia, places like Hong Kong, Japan, South Korean, and Taiwan.
They are exactly like the U.S. only with Asian people.
The U.S. Is not as unique in shallowness and stupidity as you think.
What a dimwitted *beep*nut.
