Looking forward to Cumberbatch...

My wife recently wrote this post for our film blog. It is a FUN list ranking Benedict Cumberbatch’s roles (including the Penguins trailer).

The reason I capitalized fun is because that’s what this is supposed to be. Obviously we haven’t seen his full filmography or we would have included other roles. (also, its obvious that we’re part of the Sherlock fandom so that definitely effects our view of Cumberbatch).

Check it out and let me know what you think. No need to freak out over the rankings, just a fun post.

Mixed feelings about him being in the Madagascar movie. Although he's not really to blame his being in the movie and his salary is part of the reason the voice actors for Kowalski and Private won't be. While Cumberbatch may be the biggest "Hollywood star" in the movie nobody is going to the movie because of him. People will be going because of the Penguins, made popular by the television show more so than the movie.

It sucks that the movie is only going to be made because of the television show but the voice actors that made the show are getting screwed by Dream Works. The voice actors got low balled while Cumberbatch is getting PAID. I'm not blaming Cumberbatch but it still sucks.

John DiMaggio one of the voice actors (also the voice of Bender from Futurama) explains the situation in a podcast called "Pop my Culture". It's episode #151 of the podcast and the Madagascar part is near the end starting around 1:07:00

Here's the podcast for those interested

I blame the little bastard fishing from the moon.
