About sticking the hand out, and about the stupid chauffeur.

Why was that a one shot thing? Okay, she was too busy pouring paint, but when he stopped in traffic in the city, she could have continued to stick her hand out so others who are also stopped can see, like the stupid Chauffeur.

BTW, how stupid was the Chauffeur? I'm thinking dude needs to *beep* or get off the can. If you think something's fishy, would you keep staring at people weirdly to let them know that you know something's fishy? I would pretend everything is fine and play it off. I would drive to safe area and call 911 where the person cannot see me.

Anyway, there would be no horror movies for us to enjoy without stupid characters. I like to break them down and analyze their stupidity, but I also understand they are a necessity in movies like this. I like this movie, it was entertaining.

During that scene, I was thinking it was the perfect time to look out of the hole and tell Jordan what she sees. Stores, landmarks, or perhaps...street signs?!

I just finished watching the movie and was actually surprised by how entertained I was by it. It left me invested, but then again, I guess anything was better than what I was expecting.

Anyway, about the hand--- when they got off the highway, I just assumed they gave up anyone seeing her hand and went with the paint. Even though they discredited their own point with the city scene/guy in the Lincoln, originally when they first got off the exit, she said everything looked the same and they didn't show any cars around them on the road.

About that guy--yes, he was dumb all around. Especially since paint wasn't just dripping out, the taillight was also kicked out. Even if I got as far as double checking at the parking lot (which I wouldn't), I would have gotten in my car and pretend to drive around as I called so I could get away if needed.

I was so disappointed in the Michael Imperioli character. First for waiting so long to call 911. Second for continuing to scream his head off. But that could have be because of head injuries.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

I know! Agree with your posting about sticking the hand out while stopped in traffic and calling 911 when you're away from the bad guy and playing it cool so you dont tip him off.

My thought exactly OP especially about the chauffeur. How stupid could he be? I was saying the same thing watching the movie drive off like you don't know a damn thing and then make a 911 call. He literaly just stayed there and called 911 I felt the killer coming in a moment.

Where are you getting that he was a chauffeur? Pretty sure that wasn't a limo he was driving.

I'm happiest...in the saddle.

He was driving a Lincoln Town Car and wearing some fancy "uniform" clothes. I think it's safe to assume he was a chauffeur.

There definitely seem to be a number of ways in which this movie could have been more logical.

I think there was more that Casey could have done (or that Jordan could have suggested) while she was in the first trunk.

For starters:

She could have knocked out BOTH tail lights.
She could have taken off her shirt and pants, and hung them out the holes.
She could have thrown out as many objects as she could.

No driver could ignore that. Imagine yourself driving down a highway, and the car ahead of you has:

1. NO tail lights
2. Clothes hanging out of both holes.
3. Objects falling out, and becoming a danger for you and your car.
4. An arm sticking out.

It seems to me that if any of us are in Casey's situation in the future, the above actions would give you a pretty decent chance of survival.

_______

Scarlett Johansson is Miss Peel, Clark Gregg is John Steed, but who the heck are the others?!

Hahaha, true dat! Very entertaining indeed and yeah these kinds of movies need stupid characters for it to happen. I am positive that there are real life people who would be stupid enough to act like the chauffeur in this movie though hahah. He really was a dumbass accusing a suspicious person of looking weird in an empty deserted parking lot. By the way, what logical reason would there be for a whole crapload of paint to be dripping out a broken tail light? lol .. very physically unlikely .. even if paint were spilled inside the trunk, it would be extremely unlikely for the paint to make it all the way to the height of the tail light lol

In general, many of the public bystanders were all very stupid.. starting with the woman and child who noticed the arm sticking out of the car..

and also the gas station attendant.. kind of a big oversight to forget the perp was holding the gasoline pump..

reply

I think there are stupid people in life too that did what the chauffeur did. So not really a movie mistake or anything. The gas station attendant, well, unsure why he thought a xacto knife would bring down the guy, but I guess when adrenaline is high things happen.

reply

Hmmm. Perhaps that is why he is a chauffeur?
