What was Laura doing with bug spray? Was she getting high, or trying to kill herself?
Very odd way to get high, she is not a hobo to use toxic fumes. And i doubt one can of bug spray can kill a person, so i'm confused, can someone explain what happened?

I thought she was just trying to ward off the bugs that were drawn toward her because she is dead and her body is slowly decomposing.

She was a junkie. Her life was dull and meaningless. That was her way to feel alive. She was a boring person with a boring life.
